I promised to give you a peak to my recent makeup shopping, and if I promised, I will deliver!
So lately this LA-based cosmetic brand ColourPop has been my go to, mainly because of its super afordable prices. I first got really into them because of their liquid matte lipsticks (I have close to 20 colours now), and after a few orders, I ended up trying their highlighters and eyeshadows as well. The lipsticks are in the perfect cost-quality range because they're like $5-6 and are so freaking good. The colour will literally stay on your lips for the entire day, although you might have to add a coat after eating. I've had one or two (out of those 20-ish) that weren't the best quality so I can't 100% say that they have been super consistent, but hey, they're still the ones I use almost every day so I'm not complaining.
Like I said, I ended up trying their highlighters and eyeshadows. I ordered a few a few months ago, but when my flatmate became obsessed with the brand as well, she wanted to order some and I threw in a few new products as well by accident, of course). As you can see in the pictures below, I have used and tried out all of the products before blogging about them because I wanted to let you guys know how I feel about the colours and the formulas. Some of them I received yesterday, but some of them I've been using for a while now so I think I know how they work.
So here's the thing. First, the colours are incredible. I don't think there are colours that ColourPop doesn't cover in their collections so you will most likely find what you're looking for. The formula, on the other hand, is slightly weird. It's super creamy but light so when you press it down on the bottle (or whatever you want to call it) it almost feels like your finger could press it down and hit the bottom. Same goes with the highlighters. They are not the easiest to add with a brush but with using a finger. This was something I had to get used to and I'm still not sure if I really enjoy that. However, again the cost-quality range is incredible so that's why I ended up ordering more of them, this time in slightly weirder colours. At first I was looking at the pink highlighter like 'Oh shit, that's going to look terrible on me, that's way too pigmented,' but after tapping it on my finger, I noticed that it gives a nice pink-ish glow, but is definitely not too bright. I guess some people could say that not actually being super pigmented on the skin would be a negative, but it still gives me the highlight I want and personally, I'd rather add more than have to wash of my makeup and start again because gosh dang it, that highlight was waaaaay too blinding.
In the pictures below you can see my highlight-eyeshadow-blush collection I own from ColourPop. I didn't want to include the lipsticks because that would've been too much, but I might do a separate post about them later. But yeah, I would definitely recommend these to people who don't want to spend loads of money on makeup, want to have a good selection of colours where to choose from and don't mind the creamy formula. Oh, and if you live in the USA because customs can be an absolute b*tch.
